Founded in London, January 2004, by Rainer Hoffmueller and James Kingstone; a software company started on its way…
Current Locations
There are two main DesignR1 headquarters; one near London, England and the other in Phoenix, Arizona. There are DesignR1 consultants operating across the UK, Ireland, and the United States from additional offices; including our offices in: The Empire State Building (New York); Las Vegas, Nevada; Portland, Oregon; Dublin, Ireland; Manchester, Ipswich, and Reigate in England.
Our Brand
We had great fun coming up with our name! Rainer enjoys designing software solutions and James studied art and design; we just had to have “design” in the name. Mulling it over, it dawned on James that this would be Rainer’s first enterprise; then he immediately thought of his own Yamaha R1 parked outside… 150 horsepower and capable of over 160 miles per hour! DesignR1 was born.
Our Motto
We always had expansion in mind. “We don’t do small; we don’t do dull” seems an appropriate motto.
Setting The Trajectory
Growth during our first full year as an ACT! Certified Company, we went from just two partners, with a handful of clients, to the prestigious President’s Circle Award in the United States and have stayed there ever since.
Following The Course
In the first quarter of DesignR1’s first year, we were joined by Mark Hammer who has great experience with ACT! Mark is now a full partner in both the USA and UK companies as well as our Worldwide Technical Director. Mark has been instrumental in the growth of DesignR1; especially our focus on technical expertise. We currently have approximately 20 people on board, in various roles, and are actively recruiting for our planned expansion over the next few years.
The Marketplace
Since our main focus is on CRM solutions, with sales and marketing as its core users, our market is quite naturally horizontal. After all, every business needs sales. We have also gained experience in vertical markets such as Sports Fitness, Semiconductor, Industrial Sales, Metrology Equipment, Call Centers, Construction, Financial, Insurance, Mortgages and the Real Estate Industry. We have dealt with more than 3,000 customers in the past 6 years ranging from single users to international firms with over 300 users.
Add to this the personal background experience of our staff and we have a solid basis to approach any business. DesignR1 doesn’t preclude any potential client based on number of licenses. We are the only truly International ACT! Certified Company, and we will fly wherever the job takes us. We are not limited by geographic boundaries, only by how long it takes us to get to the airport.
